How does a South Indian filter coffee maker work?
Add coffee powder, pour hot water, and let it drip slowly to form a strong decoction.
How long does decoction take?
Usually 10-20 minutes depending on coffee quantity, grind, and water temperature.
What coffee grind should I use?
Use a filter coffee grind designed for decoction brewing for best dripping and balanced extraction.
Can I use it for black coffee?
Yes. Decoction can be diluted with hot water for a strong black filter style cup.
Is it easy to clean?
Yes. Rinse and wash after use, then dry fully before storing.
Is it travel friendly?
Yes. Chicory roots naturally contain dietary fibre (inulin) which supports digestion.
South Indian Filter Coffee Maker is used to brew coffee decoction through traditional drip extraction. It allows slow dripping for steady extraction, and adjust coffee quantity and drip time to control strength.
Wash the stainless steel filter after every use with mild dish soap and water. Rinse well to remove coffee residue and oils, then dry fully before storing to maintain hygiene and avoid water marks. Avoid harsh scrubbers or steel wool to protect the finish. Make sure the perforated parts are clear and completely dry before reassembling.
